Peter Smale

Peter Smale is 45 years old give or take a month and is married to Belinda. They are about to celebrate their 22nd wedding anniversary. Peter is originally from Sydney in the Parramatta district while Belinda (strangely enough) grew up in Brisbane in the Seven Hills area. Belinda currently works as a Pre School teacher aide at the Sunnybank Hills State School where she has been emploed for the last 10 years.

Peter has had four placements within the Uniting Church firstly in the Northern rivers of NSW based in Lismore ('82 - '84), then Beecroft in Sydney ('85 - '90) before moving to Qld and the Youth and Children's Ministry Unit from '91 - '94. In 1995 he began in the Mt Gravatt area with the Uniting Churches of Broadwater Road and St Mark's. Although his focus has mainly been with children and young people he has always had a significant responsibility in the area of worship and preaching. In each of the previous placements this has meant sharing in the preaching roster with his ministry colleagues on a very regular basis.

Peter and Belinda have two children. Ray is in 2nd year at UQ studying engineering and Erica is completing year 12 at Mansfield High School. Soccer is the main sport of preference in the Smale household with Peter, Ray and Erica all playing in one of it's many forms both winter and summer.
